Artist's Comments

This piece was done for a themed competition, the theme was "The Lonely Outpost" and i came fourth. Way higher than i expected given the amazing work that was being churned out over there.

I think it was interpretation of the theme that got me 4th rather than actual ability, but still got me some free dvds so yay. :)

ummm, about 4 hours....maybe a bit less if you factor an hour where i had one eye on the TV, trust me to start painting when Heroes is on. :shakefist:

I've only seen two episodes of that but it looks pretty good! I wish I could turn what I touch into liquid form.

So pretty. :o That sky is amazingly realistic! I love the gentle myriad of colors used there, as well as the fine textures and the sense of light it imparts. This really embodies the phrase "the lonely outpost". Great choice of colors. They're really pleasing to the eye and fit the theme, as well.
